Assalamualaikum and Good Morning to fellow friends,
As a CS Lecturer in KICT, IIUM and the Final Year Project Coordinator in the
International Islamic University (IIUM), I am inviting the public to our
"FYP CS Demo Day Event".
It has been far too common that our younger generation of Computer Science student
lacks not only the technical skills but also the communication skills needed to
survive in our industry today. Therefore, we have changed our program to challenge our
students in displaying their computer science skills and communication skills. We are
inviting the public, especially, the community from the CS industry to come and
help us improve our program.
This program is also a good opportunity to scout for exemplary candidates that have done work
similar to the kind of business you are doing. Finding a right match for your future workforce
is an investment, and I would like to offer you this invitation and investment opportunity of
your time and industry experience to see what possible candidates you might be interested in.

International Islamic University,
Gombak, Selangor.
Date: 25th. October 2007
Time: 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm
Please find 10 minutes of your time to give support to our students while taking a break with snacks and refreshments prepared for you. Academicians and non academicians are encourage to participate and help us evaluate our student's ability to present their ideas and convey their research to the public.
This semester, the CS FYP are introducing a lot of new projects. Come and witness what great things they have accomplished. Find out how KICT students create a robot from a plastic tupperware. Explore the possibilities of cutting edge classification of knowledge and management of information. Discover the strength of open source technology in VoIP PABX systems, get mesmerize by circuit generator AI created from boolean expressions and many more.
Come and discover for yourself.
FYP CS does not differ much from the current FYP we have now, however, the main difference is that the output of students projects are evaluated by the public. Students are required to prepare a ready made booth to show case their FYP work. Scoring will be based on:
- 1) their ability to present, defend and market their ideas.
- 2) Prepare their booth to show case their FYP
- 3) Depth of knowledge in their specific project
- 4) Ability to write a sound and coherent technical write-up
I hope you will be able to join us during this day, where all
academicians, and non academicians sits as equal to witness how our student perform and give your views on the student's projects.
